The helpline is a freephone out of hours service to help those requiring emotional support in relation to their own mental health or someone they are worried about. Callers are encouraged to make their own choices about how their healthcare needs may be met.
A team of trained volunteers help to run the service which is available seven days a week.
Whilst we recruit new volunteers to support the service, we have made the decision to shorten our operating hours on Saturdays and Sundays, changing from 12 midday to 12 midnight, to 4pm until 11pm on both days.
The changes take effect from Saturday 10 August 2024 until further notice.
Outside of these times, mental health support can be accessed via our Initial Response Service on 0800 953 0110.
An automatic message will be added to our line to signpost callers to appropriate support when we are closed and existing callers will be made aware.
